The mystery of perspective has always baffled me. It differs from person to person, from up above to down below, from here to there, from everywhere to nowhere. It seems to be omnipresent but yet non-existent. Take this for an example. From one point of view, we are part of this humongous expanse called the universe, but we are just the tiniest part of it. From another point of view, in this vast universe we are the only living beings( for now). And in this world with 7 billion people; you, being one among them, have a story to tell, like everyone else. You see people all around you, moving on in this dynamic world. They may be random strangers to you but have you ever thought even they have a story to tell? Even they had a childhood, even they grew up with their closest friends in school, even they were or are in love, even they’ve had their difficult moments, even they’ve gotten through them. The only difference is they grew up or are growing up under different circumstances. Whenever I travel, I see so many people each and every time. I ponder about their stories. I wonder what they have to say about life as such. A completely different angle from what I am used to. You’ve all heard the saying, Whenever you are stuck, view the problem from a different perspective. Being a developing photographer, I’ve found perspective to be one of the most essential elements to a photograph. A camera is not something you just see through and point at something and shoot. No, it is something far beyond that. A camera allows you to view the world in a way you’ve never seen before ( Macro photographs are a prime example). As such, these photos stand out. Some may like it, some won’t but what matters is that you’ve found a new perspective and you use that perspective in a different situation. Change your routine for a day and mix things up, find a new angle. You’ll see that it has opened up a large number of ideas and thoughts that you wouldn’t have dreamed of earlier. That is what perspective does to you… You tend to view the world differently. You become a different personality. But don’t be so drastic and change your whole outlook on everything. Some things need to remain the same… Or do they…? 😉
